Condition

Stress

Sustained pressure that has started to cost you sleep and health.

Stress is a normal response that turns harmful when it never lets up. Prolonged stress affects sleep, concentration, immunity and mood.

It is worth addressing before it becomes something else. A great deal of anxiety and depression begins as stress nobody had room to deal with.

Signs people often notice

  • Feeling permanently overwhelmed
  • Irritability or a short fuse
  • Trouble switching off
  • Physical symptoms — headaches, tension, stomach trouble
  • Drinking or eating more to cope

This list is descriptive, not diagnostic. Recognising yourself in it does not mean you have stress, and not recognising yourself does not mean you don't. Only a proper evaluation can tell you that.
