Question 1

Do you prescribe medication?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Psychiatric evaluation and medication management are core services. Medication is never automatic, though — whether it makes sense for you is decided together, and many patients are seen for therapy alone.

Question 2

Do you see children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Care is available for children, adolescents and adults. Visits for younger patients involve families at a level appropriate to the child's age. The youngest patients seen are 6 years old.

Question 3

Do you accept Medicaid?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. An application to North Carolina Medicaid has been submitted and is awaiting a decision. Credentialing status for every plan is on the Insurance & Payment page.

Question 4

How soon can I get an appointment?

Accepted Answer

New patients are usually seen within one to two weeks, depending on current new-patient volume. Appointment requests are handled through the patient portal, which shows current availability.

Question 5

Do you offer virtual visits?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Telehealth visits are available to patients located in North Carolina at the time of the appointment. Some visits and some medications require an in-office appointment; which applies to you will be discussed openly.

Question 6

What should I do in an emergency?

Accepted Answer

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day. This practice does not provide emergency or after-hours crisis care, and this website is not monitored for emergencies.

Question 7

Do I need a referral?

Accepted Answer

A referral is not required to start, unless your own insurance plan requires one. Some insurance plans require a referral from your primary care provider even when the practice does not.

Question 8

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellation: $50. No-show, follow-up visit: $75. No-show, new patient evaluation: $150. These fees are the patient's responsibility and cannot be billed to insurance. Repeated no-shows may lead to discharge from the practice, or to same-day scheduling only.

Question 9

How do I request a prescription refill?

Accepted Answer

Refill requests go through the patient portal, which is the fastest and most secure route. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for refills to be processed.
