Condition

Anxiety

Persistent worry that outlasts the situation and starts shaping your decisions.

Anxiety becomes a problem when it stops being tied to anything in particular — when the worry runs regardless of circumstances, and avoiding it starts to shrink your life.

It is one of the most treatable things we see. Most people improve with therapy, medication, or both, and many notice a difference within weeks of starting.

Signs people often notice

  • Worry that is hard to switch off
  • Restlessness or feeling on edge
  • Trouble falling asleep because your mind won't settle
  • Avoiding situations that used to be manageable
  • Physical tension, headaches or stomach trouble

This list is descriptive, not diagnostic. Recognising yourself in it does not mean you have anxiety, and not recognising yourself does not mean you don't. Only a proper evaluation can tell you that.
